Film | Elena Gutiérrez: No Más Bebés (No More Babies)

Dr. Elena Gutiérrez, Associate Professor in Gender and Women’s Studies and Latin American and Latino Studies at the University of Illinois, Chicago—author of Undivided Rights: Women of Color Organize for Reproductive Justice with Jael Silliman, Marlene Gerber Fried, and Loretta Ross, and Fertile Matters: The Politics of Mexican origin Women’s Reproduction— will present the award-winning film No Más Bebés (No More Babies). Based on Gutiérrez’ research, the film chronicles the forced sterilizations of Mexican-origin women in Los Angeles during the 1970s. A question and answer session will follow.
