Celebrating Professor Alberto Sandoval-Sánchez

downloadProfessor Mérida M. Rúa will join a panel of faculty this Saturday to honor colleague and friend to the Williams College Latina/o Studies Program, Alberto Sandoval-Sánchez.

Sandoval-Sánchez is honored for his 30 years of service to Mt. Holyoke College and Latina/o Studies. Professor Sandoval-Sanchez is Professor of Spanish at Mount Holyoke College, which in 1993 produced his theatrical piece Side Effects, based on his personal experiences with AIDS. He is the author of José Can You See?: Latinos On and Off Broadway and co-editor of yPuro Teatro: A Latina Anthology. His present research and scholarship center on the staging of monstrosity, enfreakment, queerness, and abjection on Broadway and minority theatre.
